What we promise, and how we are funded

Independence

No publisher, platform holder or agency pays for coverage, placement or scores. We buy or download our own copies. We do not take review codes, early access, travel or merchandise. If we ever have a relationship with a company we write about, it will be disclosed at the top of the page it affects.

How the site is funded

The site is funded by its owner. We may in future advertise the site itself, for example through search adverts, so that more organisers find it; that has no bearing on what we write. We do not use affiliate links: every “Official site” button goes to the publisher’s own page with nothing added to the address.

Accuracy

Facts that change (price, platforms, cross-play, ratings, shop contents) are checked against official sources when a check is written and when a game is patched. If you spot an error, tell us; factual corrections are made quickly and logged on what changed.

Opinion

Scores and verdicts are opinion based on the published method. Two groups can reasonably disagree about a game; we try to make it easy to see where our reasoning would not apply to you.

Who we write for

Adults organising an evening with friends. We list each game’s PEGI rating and say plainly when a game is frightening, violent or pushy about spending, but this is not a guide to games for children.

Images

Artwork and screenshots come from each publisher’s official press and store material, are shown for review and comment, and are credited on the page. Rights holders can ask for any image to be removed through the contact form.

Games we leave out

We do not cover games whose main purpose is selling items with hidden contents, or games where money or items of value are put up on the result of a match. A game that later adds paid items with hidden contents loses marks on its shop, and may be removed.
