Things people ask the desk
Do I have to buy anything here?
No. We do not sell anything. Every game links to its official website, where you can see its price or download it.
How are the twelve games chosen?
They are the online games we think work best for groups of friends right now, across different sizes, moods and budgets. A game has to be genuinely better with other people, and currently supported by its makers, to be considered.
Why is my favourite game missing?
Either we have not checked it yet, or it did not fit: some excellent games are single-player at heart, and some multiplayer games are built around paid items with hidden contents, which we do not cover. Suggest it through the contact form.
What does cross-play actually mean here?
That players on different systems can be in the same lobby. We also note cross-progression, which means your unlocks follow you if you change system. The two are often confused, and they matter differently.
Are the scores sponsored?
No. Nobody pays for coverage or position. The standards page explains how the site is funded.
How often are checks updated?
Whenever a game changes enough to matter: a new platform, a new shop system, a big content update. Revisions are logged on the what changed page.
Can younger players use these picks?
Each check lists the PEGI rating. We write for adults organising their own evenings, and some games here are rated 16 or 18.
Do you collect my data?
Very little. The privacy notice explains exactly what, including what happens if you use the contact form.
