A small desk for the person who organises the evening

Lobby Night is a small independent desk in the UK that writes about online games for one specific kind of reader: the person in a group of friends who ends up choosing the game, sending the invites and explaining to everyone else how to join.

That person has different questions from a reviewer. Not “is this good?” but “will my friend on the Xbox be able to play with my friend on the PC?”, “how long does a round last?”, “what happens if someone has to leave at ten?” and “is anyone going to feel they need to buy something?”. We started the site because nobody was answering those questions in one place.

How we work

Every game is played with a real group over several evenings, including at least one person who has never played it. The full method is on how we check, and the rules we hold ourselves to are on editorial standards.

What we do not do

• We do not publish, host or sell games, keys, subscriptions or in-game items.
• We do not accept payment, gifts, review codes or early access from publishers.
• We do not run sponsored rankings. The order on the home page is the order of the scores.
